NPS cordially invites you to the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Coleman Place Elementary School on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 9 a.m. on the school grounds. This event will mark a new era in the history of the 80-year old school that was originally constructed in 1925. The new, state of the art school will hold over 800 students in grades PreK-5. It will also have a parent meeting center that will be available to parents and the community.

On Thursday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m., Ingleside Elementary School will feature students from Prekindergarten through 5th grade in a musical celebration entitled “Holidays Around the World.”
The holiday program provides an opportunity for students to focus on powerful literacy and to develop a greater appreciation for the arts - all part of Norfolk Public Schools world-class vision. Additionally, both students and guests will learn about other cultures. Countries highlighted will include: France, England, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Mexico, and the United States.
