W.H. Taylor Elementary School has been named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Taylor is one of ten schools state-wide, and the only public school in Hampton Roads to receive this prestigious award this year. Winners are selected for the award based on either academic superiority within their states or by demonstrating dramatic gains in student achievement. Representatives from Taylor will receive a plaque and a banner at an awards ceremony in Arlington, Virginia in mid-November.
