Cleanup and Camp Out at Camp Young for Rosemont Middle School boys and Boy Scout Troop 188

Camp Young will undergo a major cleanup on Saturday, March 15 when as many as 60 boys from Rosemont Middle School and the Boy Scout Troop 188 sponsor an All Day Cleanup. They will clear debris along the Intercoastal Waterway and remove overgrown brush, paint and repair the activity shed. This project is geared toward improving the camp's appearance.

After Saturday's cleanup, they will go swimming, cookout and camp out overnight and finish the cleanup on Sunday morning, if needed.

Thomas Smigiel chosen as the 2008 National Teacher of the Year Finalist

Norfolk Public Schools and Virginia Teacher of the Year, Tommy Smigiel leaves for Washington D.C. Saturday as a final step in the contest to be named National Teacher of the Year. Smigiel, a Norview High School leadership teacher, is one of four finalists for this prestigious award.
