Poplar Halls Elementary sponsors a talent show on March 6

The Second Annual Student Talent Show at Poplar Halls Elementary will take place on Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m.to allow students to showcase their various non-academic talents. The show is open to the public and the tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under.

Twenty-Two of Norfolk’s Schools Received Awards from Governor Kaine

vasealIn early January, Governor Kaine recognized Norfolk's high-performing schools. He awarded them with the Governor's Award for Educational Excellence, the VIP Excellence Award, and the Board of Education's VIP Competence to Excellence Award. The highest honor was given to The School of International Studies at Meadowbrook.

Azalea Gardens Middle School raising money for National Leukemia Society

Azalea Gardens Middle School's National Junior Honor Society, under the direction of Valerie Tuck, is raising money for the National Leukemia Society through March 7. Olive Garden has agreed to award the class with the largest donation to a complete pasta meal. As of today, the students have raised $400 by collecting money from each homeroom.
