New Parent Information Guide Designed to Replace NPS Calendar

Norfolk Public Schools has created two new, economical ways to share valuable calendar information.

First, the division's calendar will be made available online at www.npsk12.com in printable format, rather than mailed home to parents and employees at the beginning of the school year. In previous years, the glossy calendar cost the division approximately $30,000 to produce, print and distribute. The online version will allow division staff to update the calendar throughout the year, including items such as School Board meeting dates, special events and revisions to the schedule due to weather.

Second, the division will send home with students a new Parent Information Guide at the beginning of the school year. The Parent Information Guide will be a resource for important school year dates, testing schedules, and other essential information for families.

The publication also will be available on the NPS Web site, www.npsk12.com.
