The Norfolk Public Schools Business & Finance Division has made special provisions to avoid pay delays this holiday week for the small group of employees who still receive hand-delivered paper checks, rather than direct deposit or checks in the mail.
Because the school division is closed on Friday, November 26, employees who normally receive their paper checks on Fridays at a work location (school or department) will be allowed to pick up their pay checks in the Central Administration Building lobby (please do not come to the Payroll office) between 11:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24.
In order to pick up your check, you must provide a picture ID. If your check is not picked up at the designated time and place, it will be mailed to your address of record. Only the employee will be allowed to claim his/her check, and the employee must sign for the check. Please note that checks will be dated November 26, 2010, and therefore should not be presented to a financial institution for payment until that date.
Employees whose checks are mailed, or whose pay is directly deposited, should not come to the Central Administration building to pick up a check. Those checks will be deposited on Friday, November 26, or mailed as normal.
