Film fans be prepared for fanfare and cameras and lights—it’s time to walk the red carpet! The Norfolk Public Schools’ 2nd Annual Digital Storytelling Festival red carpet that is!
On Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 from 9 a.m. until noon, budding movie producers from across Norfolk’s schools will be screening their films, showcasing their talents and sharing their thoughts on what makes a hero. This event will be held at Norview High School and is free and open to the public.

Alex Caddy isn’t exactly sure what he wants to be when he grows up. But the Maury High School freshman is certain that he will find his place somewhere in the medical field.
“Wow, I’d really be able to get a good part-time job if I did the Fire-Fighting/Emergency Medical Technician program,” Cady said. “I like that first responders stuff!”
Cady, along with his fellow freshman classmates in Maury’s Medical and Health Specialties Program recently took a field trip to Norfolk Technical Center to see just what opportunities the medical field has to offer. Medicine need not mean doctor, students like Cady discovered.
