Today at P.B. Young, Sr. Elementary School, you didn't have to look far to find some bright, smiling faces.
The school and its community partners held a free dental clinic in the gymnasium on Wednesday, February 22 as part of Dental Health Month. In coordination with the Norfolk Health Department and the Smiles Program, a mobile dental group provided free preventive and restorative dental care. The team brought these wonderful services and bright smiles to students at Jacox Elementary a few weeks ago.
Parental permission slips were sent home in January, and 70 P.B. Young students participated, receiving dental cleanings, sealants, and x-rays. These services are provided on a semi-annual basis.
This is just another way Norfolk Public Schools partners with other agencies to enrich students school experience.
