City officials, staff, students and Principal Laguna Foster of Campostella Elementary School watched with anticipation the planting of a tree for the City's new Living Legacy Tree Grove at the school. Mayor Paul Fraim and the Norfolk Tree Commission designated the school to be one of it's newest locations as part of the Celebrate! Trees Program. This is the fifth grove planted in the City and the first located at a Norfolk public school.
Celebrate Trees is an environmental initiative of Mayor Fraim as a way to encourage the growth of more vibrant trees in the city. Norfolkâs sister city, Kitakyushu, Japan was the inspiration for this tree-planting program.
